Leadership
1 After just receiving the 2020 February issue of the newspaper, I take the first look with staff member Kacey Dunkel behind me.
2 Celebrating a year of hard work, I gather with Katelyn Timm, Maja Stanek, Marialisa Sugameli and Rebeka Ancevski at our yearend banquet.
3 After receiving Quill and Scroll inductions, yearbook Editor-in-Chief Chloe Pierce and I show the camera our certification.
Team Builders
At the start of every school year, my adviser finds it very important to complete a 30 days of team building, which I find very important as well. To bring the staff together, we complete different team builders. During virtual learning, it was difficult to find different team builders, but it was even more important then to bring the staff together. I consider the staff members as friends along as my team.
Teaching Staff Members
With the promotion of Editor-in-Chief came the task of teach the new staff members, something I look forward for each class. At the start of the 2020 school year, the whole staff except for three members including me were new staff members. Although I was sad to see so many staff members from last year not return, I was happy to teach these new faces. From learning how to post on Ikenew.com to learning how to design, many different PowerPoints were made to help aide these staff members and new staff members in the future. I not only want to teach my team members everything to do about journalism, but I also want to teach them life skills. By learning to meet deadlines and learning how to interview people, members are learning life skills needed for the future once they graduate high school.
